1. What is Spam?
Spam is also known as UCE - Unsolicited Commercial Email.
Most UCE is commercial advertising, usually for dubious products,get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services. Often the products advertised are worthless, deceptive, and partly or entirely fraudulent. Other times, it is simply advertising for something that you are probably not interested in.
2. After I sign up, how soon will the service will be activated?
Typically, within a business day. The primary reason for the delay is that any change to your domain's "MX" records do not take effect immediately, but must propagate through the Internet. Technically, your MX records have a "TTL" (Time-To-Live) value which specifies how quickly changes will take effect. A typical TTL value is one hour, but your domain may be configured with another value, such as 24 hours.
3. We don't know how to change the 'MX' Record. What do we do?
That is no problem. We will email you the necessary changes and you can simply forward this email to your hosting company or IT department.
4. How is my email's security and privacy guaranteed?
ECM does not affect your email security in any way. Our service does not backup or make copies of your email messages. The log files only contain the email addresses of the sender and the recipient. We will never log the entire email message. We do not share any information with anyone else! In the event your mail server is off-line, our service will "spool" your email messages. When your mail server is back on-line, it will automatically transfer all the spooled email messages. Even in this case, the temporarily spooled messages will not be permanently saved or backed up.
5. Does ECM add any delay to my incoming mails?
Hardly! This service may delay your email by a few seconds, but not more than a minute. Email with large attachments, especially if you have anti-virus service, can be delayed up to about a minute or so because of the time it takes to do the scanning for viruses and spam.
6. What is open-relay?
For historical reasons, many SMTP mail servers will accept mail for email domains other than their own, and forward it on to the intended recipient.hird-party relay, also known as "open relay" or "insecure relay" is where a mail server will route mail for anybody in the world. Any machine which will accept mail for any domain and forward it on regardless of who the sender is or what IP address the mail is sent from is generally called an 'open-relay.'
Spammers hunt for and abuse these servers to try to cover their tracks, because they know their spam is unwelcome and unwanted. When spammers locate such a machine they can use it as a free distribution service for their junk email. This process very often leads to your IP/domain being blacklisted.
7. What virus scanners do you use?
We use multiple commercial scanners. This combination of scanners has been selected for their differing approaches to virus detection, which ensures wearer capable of catching all types of viruses, past, present and future.
8. What does the solution do with my spam?
Clearly, the benefit to using a service provider to block spam is removing unwanted messages from your network, freeing bandwidth and server processing time. However, if the only option for spam handling is to flag the offending messages and send them into your network, then you have only fixed half of the spam problem. Netcore's solution combines temporary secure storage outside your network with the ability to access, review, and reclaim blocked messages.
9. Does the solution guarantee uptime and availability?
Netcore guarantees 99.999 percent service availability and historically has delivered 100 percent availability. Email is a critical method of communication for businesses; a true enterprise-class solution must be unshakable in its reliability.
